The Adriatico Mediterraneo Festival
Our history, out targets, our aims
Adriatico Mediterraneo Festival explores the richness of creative and cultural expressions of the sea across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, with a particular focus on the relations between Italy and the Balkans.
Concerts, conferences, performances, cinema will talk about the intertwined cultures across the Mediterranean: the vividness of the Balkans, recently out of the war; the growing attention of Europe towards the South; the study of the area’s current history; the marine environment and ecosystem. All these topics will be analysed to discover again the bonds unifying peoples and cultures, not the barriers separating them.
In its tenth year, the Festival has relied on the participation of several artists and intellectuals like Emir Kusturica, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Noa, Goran Bregovic, Massimo Cacciari, Moni Ovadia, Giovanni Allevi, Paolo Villaggio, Nicola Piovani, Neri Marcorè, Dario Fo, Carmen Consoli, Vinicio Capossela.
